Tapestry

Observations and assessments will be carried out by the staff in your child’s room as part of an ongoing process to monitor your child’s progress and will form part of the learning journeys. Our learning journeys are available to parents online through a programme called ‘Tapestry’. This is completely safe and secure and parents receive a notification when an observation of your child has been added to your child’s personal learning journey. Parents are welcome to contribute with their own observations of their child’s development at home.

When your child is enrolled in the nursery, the manager or the senior staff will put your details on the tapestry and you will receive the email from the Tapestry to set a password. We advise you to make strong passwords and that you do not share any sensitive details with a third party. After you set the password, you can view your child’s observations online and you can add an observation or photograph which you wish to share with the nursery and you can also leave a comment on the observation that has been carried out by the practitioners in the setting.

Parents are invited to discuss their child’s progress and development with the nursery staff at our parent’s evenings, which take place once in a year. However, we are available to discuss your child’s progress at any time, should you wish too.
