Our Team

Caring for children is an important and challenging career. The right person and appropriate training can make a huge difference to your child’s enjoyment as well as development during their time at nursery.

The majority of staff at the nursery hold an NVQ Level 3 in Child Care, or are in the process of obtaining it. All have a Paediatric First Aid Certificate and Food Hygiene Certificate, both of which are renewed every three years. In addition, all staff are carefully vetted through the Criminal Records Bureau and personal references are taken up when they first join the team.

All members of staff receive induction training which includes going through the child protection policy and health and safety procedures.  All members of staff have not been just selected just for the qualifications they hold, but also for their exceptional personal qualities and their genuine love for children with dedication to their job and all it involves.

Continual professional development and training is very important and an ongoing priority, thus staff regularly attend training courses to improve their skills, which allow the nursery to provide the best quality care of the highest standard. 

We hold monthly staff meetings to discuss many points and also many other meetings to reflect our practices and to give us the opportunity to look at our strengths and weaknesses and how we can progress further within our nursery. 

Our ratio of children to staff ensures that children are looked after in a carefully monitored environment. The ratios of staff to children are as follows:

• 0 – 2 years – one adult to three children
• 2 – 3 years – one adult to four children
• 3 – 12 years – one adult to eight children
